ITEC Diploma in Reflexology
Reflexology is classed as an holistic therapy and is based on the art of using pressure therapy on the hands / feet. This is because it is believed that reflex points in these areas, correspond to the organs and structures of the body.
Reflexology is thought to originate from China approximately 5,000 years ago and has also been used by the ancient Egyptians and in India and North America. Europe has seen the treatments in use, in some form since the 14thC and continues to grow in popularity today.
People and allied medical professions are becoming more aware of the potential therapeutic effects of the treatment and therefore it has become increasingly used in healthcare as well as 'natural therapy' clinics and beauty salons as it is natural and non invasive.
